A warm soul and a creative mind.
Hi, my name is Esmée. I’m a warm, calm and intuitive person, who really loves creating on both sides of the camera. For now, I’m living and working in Amsterdam, but I know that one day I would love to live abroad, somewhere with a little more sunshine than the Netherlands.
I’ve always felt connected to things with a sense of nostalgia, authenticity and natural beauty. It’s the old records, vintage cars, photo albums, analog photography and camcorders that I keep coming back to. Sometimes I joke that I was born in the wrong era. There’s something about those timeless and tangible things that I really love. To me, they carry a sense of warmth, soul and color that many modern things seem to have lost. I miss the boldness that everyday design once had, whether it’s old records, vintage advertising or cars painted in vibrant colors instead of endless shades of black, grey and dark blue.
My journey as a model started when I was 18 years old, or perhaps even earlier. From that moment on, becoming a model was my absolute dream. It helped me overcome a lot of my shyness, to step out of my comfort zone and build confidence, and it still does to this day.
I bought my first (and so far only) camera in 2022, shortly before my first surf solo trip to Ericeira and Lisbon. When I received the developed film from that trip, I was genuinely surprised by the results, especially considering I had no experience at the time. That experience sparked something within me.
Now, in 2026, I decided to turn this passion into my work and I’m excited to see where this journey will lead. I’m sure it will introduce me to lovely people, inspiring projects, and perhaps even adventures far beyond the Netherlands.
Recently, I’ve added a new lens to my collection and started experimenting with a vintage camcorder and analog video. I’m always looking for new ways to learn, explore and create.
I already know I won't limit myself and my creativity to just photography and modeling. Sometimes I write words and poetry, I work in the event and music industry, I’m even dreaming about organizing my own event in the near future, I also started playing guitar (even though that’s on a little break the last couple of months), and I enjoy painting and creating collages.
The more I explore this creative path, the stronger the feeling becomes that this is what I’m meant to do. I’m simply following that feeling and seeing where it takes me.
